Hearing schedule

Modes of hearing

Hearings are held before the Tribunal in a hearing room, or electronically (by teleconference or videoconference), or in writing, or some combination of those. A Panel (the adjudicator(s) presiding over the hearing) has discretion to determine the mode of a hearing, including with respect to participants’ physical presence in the hearing room. For more information, see Rule 23 of the Capital Markets Tribunal’s Rules of Procedure and Forms.

All currently scheduled hearings will proceed in the mode already ordered by a Panel, unless the Panel orders otherwise at the request of a party or on its own initiative.

All hearings are open to the public unless a Panel orders otherwise.

Public and media access to hearings

Visual or audio recording of a hearing is prohibited unless a Panel grants permission. Requests for recording must be made in writing and sent to the Registrar and all Parties at least five days before the hearing. A person who obtains permission to make a visual or audio recording will be subject to the directions of the Panel and must not engage in any behaviour that disrupts or detracts from the hearing.

To attend a hearing in the hearing room: The Tribunal’s hearing rooms are on the 17th floor at 20 Queen Street West in Toronto. The hearing rooms are accessible and include several assistive devices. Accessibility requests may be made by contacting the Registrar at least 30 days before the hearing at registrar@osc.gov.on.ca so that reasonable accommodation can be arranged.

To observe a videoconference hearing: Select the “Register to attend” link below on the hearing schedule.

To listen to a teleconference hearing: Email a request to the Registrar at registrar@osc.gov.on.ca at least two business days before the hearing, specifying your name and the hearing you wish to listen to. The Registrar will provide dial-in information. The Tribunal may not be able to accommodate requests received less than two business days before the teleconference hearing.
